Marunuma Dam is known for its unusual buttress type structure, of which only eight were built in the whole country early in the Showa era. The buttress dam at Marunuma Dam has not changed its form since that time 70 years ago, boasting to be the largest in size among the six models still in use today. The Marunuma Dam card is very popular with visitors (look at a picture above). We offer a premium dam post card to visitors having stayed in Katashina Village!
