Renge azalea (designated as a special natural treasure of Gunma Prefecture) is a beautiful vermilion flower species. It can be viewed on the grounds of ‘Katashina Hotaka Camping Ground’, located midway up Mt. Hotaka, one of the Hundred Famous Japanese Mountains. Please visit and admire the beautiful red field of about 15,000 Renge azaleas (Best time to see: Middle to Late June.)
