All 6 of Katashina’s ski resorts offer ski and snowboard rental. It might be easier to rent the equipment there, however the rental shops that are not located right at the ski park are cheaper.
I was recommended Goyoukan Shirane Drive In. This rental shop, restaurant and guest house all in one is situated along route 120 (on the way to Marunuma Kogen).
I rented my skis, poles and boots from Goyoukan but they also have snowboards, jacket, trousers and sledges. – Good quality for a very good price!

They only give prices for a maximum of 2 days. However, I am able to rent my skiing equipment for several days – so just ask!
The only thing you cannot rent (just like at all the other places) are gloves, hat, goggles and socks. Yet, they are for sale here at Goyoukan, gloves range around ¥4,190, a hat ¥2,430-¥3,000 and goggles ¥3,000 up to ¥6,000.
You can also stay at Goyoukan Shirane Drive In for a bowl of soba, ramen or udon or even for a couple of nights – convenient due to its close location to Marunuma Kogen.
