After passing Tokura on Route 401 (Numata Highway), go straight for about 8 km while looking at the Katashina River on your right. The area is surrounded by mountains, and this intake is located deepest into the mountain among the ten exquisite waters of Katashina Village. There are restaurants and rest houses around the main parking lot and visitors can get some spring water, which store owners have drawn from the gushing point, in front of the stores. Enjoy the spring water that is cold even in summer.

While currently, the road is closed to vehicles here, the road itself continues to Hienomata Village in Fukushima. This is the Numata Kaido (Way) where trading between Aizu and Joshu used to be conducted.
