Since the height difference of the trail to Mt. Nikko Shirane is about 580 m (from here to the summit) and it takes only 2 hours and 40 minutes for an intermediate mountain climber to reach the summit, this Mt. Nikko Shirane mountain trail becomes a very popular climbing route from early summer to autumn. There is also a must-try "footbath in the sky" (free of charge) here. You can get yourself in shape at this place and then start climbing or heal your exhausted feet here on the way back from the summit. Of course, you can stay here and detox yourself from your feet while breathing the clear, crisp air of the plateau and fully relaxing. Do whatever you want.
The Marunuma Kogen Ski Resort is the ski resort that opens earliest in the Kanto region in mid-November. In addition, you can still enjoy skiing even during the Golden Week holidays. In summer, a fiberglass summer slope is offered. There is also a fully equipped auto camping site for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy camping on the plateau.
